THE PARISH

December 30, 1985, Bishop Protacio Gungon announced the Canonical Erection of Holy Family Parish.
Our Parish is a constant reminder of the many sacrifices our parishioners and parish priests have offered to the Lord with all their hearts.
The cornerstone was laid during Fr. Marcel’s stay in the parish. The construction began in Fr. Matan’s term and it was completed during the time of Fr. Dong in time for the 10th Anniversary of the Parish. The Structure reminds us of many miracles that gave the community enough funds to finish the parish.
Fr. Larry made a makeover in preparation for the Silver Jubilee. The earth-colored tones complemented the newly designed altar, with the lectern and newly built Retablo Mayor.
In 2021, despite the challenges of the pandemic, the faithful made an effort for the renovation and beautification of the Church. 2 Spanish Era light posts, Images of the 12 Apostles and Holy Family were installed on the church facade.
The church interior was completely renovated removing the damaged wooden parts of the church pillars and ceiling with fiber cement. Liturgical Molding, Carvings, Chapier, Rococo Wall Lamps, and Chandeliers were added as part of the renovation.
THE RETABLO
During the term of Fr. Larry Paz, plans for the retablo were drawn up and costings did. There was no shortage of volunteer artisans for the project. The community embraced the idea of building a retablo and it was completed before the 25th Anniversary of the Parish.
The giant crucifix was relocated to the big glass-stained window at the main entrance of the church. God the Father was placed at the topmost portion of the retablo. The central image of the Holy Family has 4 window boxes representing the Betrothal of Mary and Joseph, The Annunciation, Joseph’s Dream, and the Presentation of the Lord. On the left part of the retablo is an image of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help and on the right is the Divine Mercy.

Years later, Fr. Louie Atanacio repainted the retablo from an earth-colored tone to a white, gold, and silver, giving a bright and cozy feel. A crucifix was placed at the topmost portion of the retablo, replacing God, the Father. The image of Perpetual Help and Divine Mercy was placed on both sides of the sanctuary. The images of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Sacred Heart of Mary were placed on the left side of the retablo and images of our Filipino Saints San Lorenzo Ruiz and San Pedro Calungsod on the right.
In 2018, the retablo was enhanced and beautified to a 'Baroque Style'. Three retablos were added dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Santo Entierro, and the Blessed Sacrament. In 2021, the new image of our patron features the Hearts of the Holy Family: The Sacred Heart of Jesus, Immaculate Heart of Mary, and Most Chaste Heart of Joseph
THE JUBILEE LOGO

The logo symbolizes the fortified spirit of the people of Parang, represented through the structure of the Parish. Its colors are inspired by the Jubilee 2025 logo released by the Vatican. The four pear-shaped figures signify the four Gospels, which lie at the heart of Parish life, celebrated in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. The chosen theme is: "Banal na Mag-Anak, Tanglaw ng Pag-asa sa Landas ng Buhay". This is the example set by our patron, the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. Though the road of their journey was rough, though they found no shelter in the crowded village of Bethlehem, though they had to flee unexpectedly to Egypt, and despite the challenges and trials in their humble home in Nazareth, may we be like them—continuing to hope and trust in the Lord.
The Number 4
The number four (4) represents the four decades during which the Parish of the Holy Family has flourished. It also recalls the four Evangelists—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—whose Gospels are proclaimed during the Sacrament of the Mass.
The iconography reflects the Parish’s foundation, both physical and spiritual, represented by the blocks in its design. These elements signify the Parish’s ongoing renewal and growth. At the heart of these narratives lies the Paschal Mystery of Jesus Christ, as told in the Gospels, which remains the focal point of Parish life.
The pear-shape in the center, along with the cross and angled lines, symbolizes the Parish façade. The cross at the top, the stained glass, and the angular design are all features of the physical church, a place cherished by all who gather there.
The Number 0
The number zero (0), as a circular figure, represents the ruby anniversary celebration of the Parish Fiesta. Within it is the image of the Holy Family, the titular Patron of the Parish, to whom every family entrusts their care: the paternal guidance of St. Joseph, the maternal affection of Mary, and the innocence and warmth of the Child Jesus.
The image of the Holy Family embodies the Parish’s vision to be a Diocesan Hub for Catechesis and the enrichment of family life, modeled after the Holy Family.
Above the Holy Family is the guiding star, known as the “Star of Bethlehem,” which led the wise men of the East to the Infant Jesus, as described in the Gospel of Matthew.
The Colors of the Iconography
Red dominates the logo, signifying the 40th Anniversary Celebration and representing the blood and sweat of the people who contribute to the Parish’s endeavors. In Christian tradition, red and the ruby gemstone symbolize the divine sacrifice of Christ on the Cross. The deep hue of the ruby is associated with purity and sacrifice, as reflected in the Book of Proverbs:
"For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it."
"Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies."
Blue, green, and yellow (commingled with orange) reflect the Holy Family: green for St. Joseph, blue for the Blessed Virgin Mary, and yellow for the Star leading to Jesus.
