We're on our way to Jesus

April 20, 2025 - As the Holy week comes to an end, Easter Sunday was celebrated. After the salubong, Rev. Fr. Fernando (Fhyrdz) Cornejo led the Holy Mass and shared the proof of Jesus’ resurrection. 

The first proof was the stone that covered the tomb which was ordered so that people can’t easily access the body of Jesus. It was described as something really heavy but Jesus managed to escape from it with ease. 

“That stone symbolizes the challenges that stop us from living our lives to the fullest,”

This is why Fr. Fhyrdz urged the faithful to reflect on the stones blocking their way to experience the life that God wants them to have. 

Second was the cloth that was neatly folded in His resting place. The priest shared the culture of the Jews wherein a neatly folded cloth was a sign that a person’s business is still unfinished. 

“Jesus purposely left the cloth neatly folded, to send the message that He is alive and will return for it. The disciples saw this, and they believed,”

He added that every problem we resolve is a living proof that we are on our way back to Jesus, and we are currently tasting a taste of paradise that we will fully savor in heaven. 

To close his homily, Fr. Fhyrdz told the faithful that whenever they encounter challenges and hardships in life, trust the Lord and remember that the pain that they are carrying will be replaced with glory.
