THE CHURCH
December 30, 1985, Bishop Protacio Gungon announced the Canonical Erection of Holy Family Parish.
Our Parish is a constant reminder of the many sacrifices our parishioners and parish priests have offered to the Lord with all their hearts.
The cornerstone was laid during Fr. Marcel’s stay in the parish. The construction began in Fr. Matan’s term and it was completed during the time of Fr. Dong in time for the 10th Anniversary of the Parish. The Structure reminds us of many miracles that gave the community enough funds to finish the parish.
Fr. Larry made a makeover in preparation for the Silver Jubilee. The earth-colored tones complemented the newly designed altar, with the lectern and newly built Retablo Mayor.
In 2021, despite the challenges of the pandemic, the faithful made an effort for the renovation and beautification of the Church. 2 Spanish Era light posts, Images of the 12 Apostles and Holy Family were installed on the church facade.
The church interior was completely renovated removing the damaged wooden parts of the church pillars and ceiling with fiber cement. Liturgical Molding, Carvings, Chapier, Rococo Wall Lamps, and Chandeliers were added as part of the renovation.
THE RETABLO
During the term of Fr. Larry Paz, plans for the retablo were drawn up and costings did. There was no shortage of volunteer artisans for the project. The community embraced the idea of building a retablo and it was completed before the 25th Anniversary of the Parish.
The giant crucifix was relocated to the big glass-stained window at the main entrance of the church. God the Father was placed at the topmost portion of the retablo. The central image of the Holy Family has 4 window boxes representing the Betrothal of Mary and Joseph, The Annunciation, Joseph’s Dream, and the Presentation of the Lord. On the left part of the retablo is an image of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help and on the right is the Divine Mercy.
Years later, Fr. Louie Atanacio repainted the retablo from an earth-colored tone to a white, gold, and silver, giving a bright and cozy feel. A crucifix was placed at the topmost portion of the retablo, replacing God, the Father. The image of Perpetual Help and Divine Mercy was placed on both sides of the sanctuary. The images of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Sacred Heart of Mary were placed on the left side of the retablo and images of our Filipino Saints San Lorenzo Ruiz and San Pedro Calungsod on the right.
In 2018, the retablo was enhanced and beautified to a 'Baroque Style'. Three retablos were added dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Santo Entierro, and the Blessed Sacrament. In 2021, the new image of our patron features the Hearts of the Holy Family: The Sacred Heart of Jesus, Immaculate Heart of Mary, and Most Chaste Heart of Joseph
