We are each other's keepers, and this is how it should always be

"We cannot excuse ourselves from this responsibility of helping our familial circle to grow into the kind of person that God wants them to be."

In line with the preparation for the Feast of the Holy Family on December 30, 2022, triduum masses are held from December 27-29. The first mass was presided over by Fr. Sandy Enhaynes, who shared how everybody should be like St. John the Beloved and the Holy Family when it comes to forming relationships with one another.

From the Holy Gospel, it is shown that St. John had a close relationship with Jesus and that he took it seriously to the extent of taking on the responsibility of becoming Mary's son. From that strong connection, we can see good examples that should prevail in our relationships with the world, especially with our family.

"In these relationships, we see that their individual lives can really mold our relationships to become holy, like our model for all human relations and the holy family."

Fr. Sandy also shared his experiences, such as how the parents wished to also confess on the day of the confession of their children for the Holy Communion and the weddings that he presided over during December. In his stories, he told the parishioners how the people he encountered helped their family members become good people and guided them to the holy path.

"Shouldn't the relationships of Christians be like that? Your neighbors are the guide for you to be good, and you are the way for them to be holy?"

Just like John, may we be disciples of God who are shaped by our brothers and sisters in faith so that we can reach heaven, our true home, as members of the family of our Father in heaven.
