On December 26, 2021, our Parish celebrated its 36th anniversary. The parish held a Missa Concelebrated presided by the Bishop of Antipolo, Most Reverend Francisco M. De Leon D.D.
“If there’s no family, there’s no church.”
In His homily, Bp. Francis highlighted the values that everyone should learn from the event where Mary and Joseph finally found Jesus in his Father’s home.
First, the parents should be the first people to teach their children about holiness and good manners. They are not only a provider but they are also the people who will guide, shape, give advice, and care to their children.
Second, he also mentioned that being a parent means being responsible. It is easy to become one but it is difficult to act like one because becoming a parent is a lifetime duty that doesn’t get paid.
Lastly, the people can learn from the Holy Family that a parent should also learn from their children. The relationship between one another shouldn’t be all ears but also full of understanding, conversation, and explanation.
“The family is the basic unit of the society and church. If the family gets destroyed, society will also be destroyed. This is why we should take care of it.”
Bp. Francis also talked about marriage and how it is not an easy thing to do. He reminded the people that nobody is perfect and a couple should always keep that in mind before marrying one another.
“When you marry someone, use your heart and mind and see to it that you love one another. Pray and ask guidance to the Lord because marriage is not like hot rice that you can spit once you realize that it is too hot.”
During the mass, the participation of special people was also present. Firstly, Mr. Arman and Mrs. Ruby Tan who were once again Hermano and Hermana helped sponsor the holy mass and the fiesta activities. Mrs. Stella Quimbo along with her family also attended and shared gifts with the parishioners.
Aside from the mass, Holy Family Parish also gave food gift packages to 350 families as a project entitled Balik Handog which celebrated its 5th year of success. The parish won’t be able to do it without the help and generosity of many parishioners who donated food and money.
To end the event, a celebration was held called Gabi ng Parokya where despite the rain, many parishioners and parish workers still joined and had fun with the activities such as the raffle, TikTok competition, and live band.
