The sixth Misa De Gallo was presided by Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Delatado, which emphasized the value of a simple visit because it brings genuine happiness.
Fr. Ferdie’s opening remarks highlighted that living a Christian life is joyful because everyone sincerely thanked and praised God.
“Joy is the nature of being a Christian.”
He also talked about his experience leading a mass in prison. When he asked the prisoners what they wished, the majority said they wanted their loved ones to visit them. With this experience, Fr. Ferdie reminds the story of “The Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Elizabeth”, where Mary traveled for days in order to visit her cousin and deliver the unexpected news of her pregnancy.
“We should be bearers of joy, just like Mary, who chose to deliver a delightful message despite the difficulties she encountered on her journey.”
He mentioned that there would be many unexpected events, experiences, and surprises that would provide pure happiness, for which everyone should be grateful.
"Everyone must remember to thank Him for all the unexpected happiness in life."
Fr. Ferdie concluded the homily by encouraging everyone to spread positivity to their loved ones, the lost, and the suffering since God's purpose is to enable everyone to feel His presence through happiness.
