Yesterday, Holy Family Parish held an online telethon titled "Isang Pamilya Tayo", a donation fund drive for those affected by the enhanced community quarantine due to the Coronavirus or COVID-19
The show was hosted by Brother James Wong, Coordinator of the Diocesan Social Communications. In the first part, the guests were the PPC President, Sister Analyn Navarrete, and Sister Marlene Vinas from the Social Service Ministry. They shared their experiences when they go to communities. According to Sis. Marlene, staff who are participating in relief operations are required to wear masks, face shields, gloves and other protective equipment for precautionary measures. Sis. Analyn also the different actions that the Parish did to help the poor communities from Barangay Parang, Fortune, and Nangka who were mostly affected by the ECQ. The parish distributed gift checks, rice, and canned goods. When asked, about risking their lives to help others even the COVID cases are rising, Sis. Marlene replied that she had fear for her life, but she knows that God will protect her and her family.
In the second part of the show, Father Ferdinand Delatado where he shared the purpose and the beauty of helping those who are in need. He also told us how grateful he was from all the donations from his birthday concert until today. He also shared the actions made by the Diocese and the Parish on distributing goods. He is also donating his allowance to provide additional assistance for the relief operations.
The total amount of donations received during the program was 14,500 coming from different individuals and groups. More donations came after the program to help the poorest of the poor.
Before the show ended, the parish thanked the parishioners and church workers who shared their talents for the online alay talento. They also thanked our partners, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Antipolo, Defend the Catholic Faith, and Katolikong Noypi for allowing the parish to stream the live telethon on their pages.
