The Christmas Eve Mass was presided by our parish priest Re. Fr. Ferdinand C. Delatado.
The 'Panunuluyan,' was the search of Joseph and Mary's lodging in Bethlehem, was reenacted by the Parish Youth Ministry.
Fr. Ferdie stated in his homily that no color represents Christmas. Because when Jesus is born, it is nighttime. Dark, there are no decorations, celebration, flickering lights, or gender reveal. Christmas has no color because it is not about what we see but what we feel in our loving hearts. The image of Christmas shows us the exquisite love of God, how he passed through heaven and earth to reach us. He was solemn in finding us and brought us back to his home. Since we astray for a long time because of our sins. He leads us to the path of salvation.
This night is special for our Lord because this is the time that he will be born despite the crisis and dilemma. God proved that he is with us, the 'Emmanuel' he stayed true to his promise that he will not leave us.
He's encouraging us not to run away from our problems because, at that moment, we can see how he acts. He is the light that will conquer the darkness and will never extinguish. Let's not forget to give thanks to the Lord. Christmas has an image. We can perceive it and signify that he will never neglect us.
Christmas has no color. COVID will not last and typhoons will pass; however, Christ is eternal. Christmas will never fade because it is significant and contagious. No pandemic will prevent this or even a typhoon, just to discern how Jesus loves us.
