Faithful attended the mass of the Lord's supper held today in observance of Maundy Thursday.
In his homily, Fr. Ferdinand Delatado reminded us about the commandment of the Lord, which is to love each other. He then shared the two important sacrament which was mentioned by the gospel, and those are the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist and the Sacrament of Holy Orders.
He stated that in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist, we are accepting Christ. He reminded us that Jesus washed the apostles’ feet as a symbol of humility because washing of the feet was considered as the lowest state of job during the time of Christ.
Fr. Ferdie washed the apostles’ feet. The washing of the feet symbolizes the preordination of Christ apostles as the first priests of the church. The apostles washed the feet of selected parishioners who attended the mass. After communion, the procession to the altar of repose began as well as the overnight vigil led by ministries and organizations.
