The first Simbang Gabi in preparation of the birth of Jesus was held and the mass presider was Father Ferdinand Delatado He asked the faithful "Why we are attending Simbang Gabi?" Some parishioners answered 'for thanksgiving' while others answered to pray and reflect. He told the faithful that they're here tonight to give thanks because you don't forget all the blessings the that Lord has given to you these past years. Fr. Ferdie reminded everyone about Spiritual Preparation. If we are preparing for Noche Buena, the gifts that we will give, of course, the best thing we have to do is to prepare ourselves for Christmas. Therefore, the 9 days is like a spiritual retreat, wherein the priests are your retreat masters and the facilitator is the holy spirit so its important that your heart and mind is open for the things you will learn. Wish to Lord, we all have a wish this Christmas and hopefully these things are in your wish list this year: attend the mass daily, always give, thanks to lord, learn to forgive and be humble. But the 'Simbang Gabi' is like a novena, because it consists of nine days which represent the nine-months pregnancy of Mary. Ask for mercy from the Lord this is a beautiful gift that you will give to lord now that we are preparing for the birth of Jesus. The reason why we are celebrating Christmas is because of Christ. May we brother, and sisters know the true meaning and excitement we feel this Christmas.
