"It is essential to know where you came from"

We are now on the second Misa de Gallo in preparation for the birth of our Lord Jesus. Our mass presider is Rev. Fr. Cris Dimaculangan, CP from St. Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish.

He encourages us to know the Genealogy of Jesus Christ, that is also our descendants. Because it is a way to know ourselves, understand our behaviors, attitudes, and even looks.

Fr. Chris also shared his experience in the seminary where they made an activity to make a family tree. There he realized while accomplishing the activity that he is closer to his father's family than to his mother's. That by reminiscing every person that is related to his family is crucial to recognize where you came from so that he can be a follower of Jesus.

The essence of our gospel is that God wanted to show to us the genealogy of Jesus Christ, even if we do not know them completely. That not everyone in his descent is righteous and some of them are sinners, corrupt, and imperfect. Despite this, they still did their best and persevered to serve and follow God's will. Then he asked, "Are you keen to come back and serve God?" Since Jesus' descents persevered to serve God despite their sins, faults, and downfalls.

He hopes that we ponder in ourselves the genealogy of our faith. To not forget to believe, trust, and serve God. Because he is always there inviting and welcoming us. Let us value and cherish the blessings he gave. Despite this pandemic, our dilemmas, and many more, don't give up. We need to rise, continue, and persevere in our faith and duty to God.

Lastly, we are encouraging you, the faithful, to support and participate in the program of the Social Services Ministry "Balik Handog" in its 5th year. Wherein you can get a bag from the usherettes to be filled with essential goods that you can offer in the mass. That will be distributed to those who are in need in the upcoming feast of the Holy Family on December 26, 2021.
