In silence, God speaks, Fr. Delatado

The church celebrated the New Year’s eve mass as well as the Solemnity of Mary, mother of God. In his homily, Father Ferdinand Delatado shared the lessons that people can learn from Mary that will help them start the year right.

To begin, Mother Mary taught everyone to believe in prayer and not in superstitions or superficial beliefs. She reflected on her life experiences and people should too. It is important to let the Lord talk to our heart because that is the kind of prayer that Mother Mary is teaching everyone; to allow us to listen and to trust His plans.

"In silence, God speaks. Silence is the language of God."

Second, just like Mary, our goals should be filled with praises and not luck. If a person's goal is to give praise then they are willing to take action, however, if a person's goal is luck, then they are lazy. Both are similar for they are things that people do not deserve.

"We receive many praises from the Lord and we shouldn't waste any of it."

Lastly, what everyone needs is change and not something that acts like one. If people will let Christ enter their hearts and let the Lord lead, then everyone will be able to accept change even if they are not prepared yet. If people will let God conquer their hearts, then He will be trusted to guide the future even though people have no idea what's in it.

"The dreams of achieving complete change start to yourself. If you were able to do that then you will feel what true peace is. Don't let yourself be tied to the past. Search for the things that can be better starting to yourself."

To close his homily, Fr. Ferdinand reminded everyone to hold onto Mama Mary because she will take care of everybody the same way she did to Jesus. People will open a new chapter in their life, may we bring the Lord to everyone.
