How does Jesus die in our lives?

Yesterday we celebrated Good Friday in observance of the crucifixion of Jesus and his death on the cross. The 7 Last Words started at 12:00 noon.

Ramon Reyes from EMHC, Armando Ragudo from Knights of Columbus, Edna Pumariga from MoL, Ellen Malto from D.M.I, Tony Alcantara from A.N.F, Rosario Trance from C.W.L, and Reliza Lui from M.B.G are the speakers of the seven last words.

The continuation of the mass from yesterday started at 3:00 pm. Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Delatado entered and prostrated in front of the altar as an indication that the mass started, followed by the liturgy of the word.

Fr. Ferdie tackled in his homily the group of people who brought Jesus to die on the cross. He used the acronym 'LBC' from the famous courier company based in the Philippines with a famous motto, "Hari ng Padala".

The first letter L stands for "Liars". We're all guilty of it, it's like we're not guilty of lying to ourselves and to others. Hopefully, if we're too busy hoaxing someone else, it's much better if we'll focus more on being authentic.

“It is good to contemplate when you lied, tricked others, disguised yourself as others, and committed slander.”

Let us remember that the first group that brought Jesus to the cross is the liars.

Letter B stands for "Bias". These are the people who despite Jesus' actions and words, still refused to listen and rejected his teachings. If we continue to be stubborn, believe in wrong beliefs, remain in a situation where we know we will commit a sin, and justify our wrongdoings and make excuses for them.

Remember that:

"The group of people who are 'Bias' brought Jesus to the Cross."

And finally, the letter C stands for "Co-conspirator". Another group that brought Jesus to the cross. Those who conspired and united to do what is wrong.

"The type of unity that will make sure you win but will not make you happy."

Christ was the victim of the wrong kind of unity. We bring Jesus to the cross if we continue to follow the platoon that desires the mishap of others, follow the currents of the world, and believe in fake news.

Fr. Ferdie wrapped up his homily by reminding us not to be LBC (Liars, Bias, and Co-conspirators) this Good Friday. Let's not be the people who will bring Jesus to the cross and die in our lives.

Then the veneration of the cross began and since we are in a pandemic, the faithful only genuflects or makes a profound bow to the cross instead of kissing and touching the cross. Next is the holy communion and the sacred burial rite of our Lord Jesus Christ or the entrance of Santo Entierro in the church.
