Holy Family Parish Hosts 2nd KaDA Viaje sa VOLA, Uniting Youth for Faith and Vocation Sharing

The 2nd KaDA VIAJE sa VOLA (Vicariate of Our Lady of the Abandoned) was hosted by Holy Family Parish on July 14, 2024. This event, organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Vocations of the Vicariate of Our Lady of the Abandoned, was spearheaded by Vicariate Youth Coordinator Vince Marcus Nobleza. Approximately 150 youths from ten parishes, including the host parish Holy Family, attended the event.

Youth members, vocation promoters, and religious congregations joined in the activities. Father Keith Buenaventura, Mr. Danilo Caceres Bical and Mrs. Cielito Angelita Pascual Bical, and Anton Heinrich Rennesland shared their vocation stories on the priesthood, married life, and single-blessedness.

The event concluded with a concelebrated mass featuring five priests: Fr. Joselito Santos, Vicar Forane of VOLA; Fr. Fhyrdz Cornejo, Parish Priest; Fr. Rene Silgas; Fr. Jomar Taroy; and Fr. Alan Oresca. Fr. Rene Silgas delivered the homily, emphasizing that "Life is change." He remarked, "If God calls us to be bearers of His word, we must follow and embrace this lifelong duty."

Fr. Silgas continued, "Life is also life-changing. The Lord made life a change for us to fit into His creations. However, we must understand that the wisdom we share is His word and His will, not the dominion of any man. It boils down to us acting as representatives of God rather than building our own kingdoms."

He urged, "Each of us is a herald of the gospel. Let's be heralds despite rejections; what is most important is that we proclaim Jesus Christ. After leaving this church, may each of us talk about Jesus, be instruments in recalling the gospel, and devote ourselves to the sacraments. May the Lord bless us and keep us."

Before the mass concluded, Vicariate Vocation Coordinator Tita Angie Dayandante and Fr. Joselito Santos expressed their gratitude to all participants of the 2nd KaDA Viaje. This was followed by the turnover of the image of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage from the Vicariate of Our Lady of the Abandoned to the Vicariate of Our Lady of Light.

The next KaDA Viaje will be held at Sacred Heart Parish in Cainta on August 8, 2024, led by Vicariate Youth Coordinator Ross Santos.
