Every Good Friday, parishioners observe the celebration of the passion of the Lord.
Fr. Ferdie Delatado officiated the mass thru Facebook Live on the parish's page. In his homily, he stated that the mystery of life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced. The experiences in life like failures, hardships, loneliness, and even death, will only have true meaning if we will experience it ourselves.
He recounted that when he entered the church, he was greeted by silence. There were no people greeting him before the mass started, there's no opening song, he did not open his hands to greet peace. If anything, he said that there should not be a homily because there were no words enough to describe the suffering of Jesus.
If you are looking for answers on why you are suffering today, always remember that in silence, you will have your answer. Jesus was the one who first experienced great suffering, His cross is the silent answer. It is an expression that there were no words uttered to answer us but it symbolizes the unending love of Jesus for us.
The story of Jesus will not end on Good Friday, there will be a resurrection. Every time we look at Jesus' cross, may we see not a question, but an answer to all our experiences.
After the mass for the Passion of the Lord, there was a Eucharistic Procession of the Holy Sacrament around Parang and Fortune.
