Forgiveness is the key to being united with your family

On December 30th we celebrated the Feast of the Holy Family and the 37th Canonical Erection of our Parish. Before the Holy Mass, Most Reverend Nolly Buco, JCD, JSD, DD blessed the new church bells. The bells were named after the hearts of the Holy Family; the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and the Chaste Heart of St. Joseph.

In Bishop Buco’s homily, he reminded everyone that our mission is to communicate the greatest story of God’s manifestation that he cares for us.

“No single mind is greater than many.”

He encourages everyone to try to listen to a certain degree of wisdom since the key to society’s progression is listening, and so is participation and consultation in the dialogue. Moreover, despite the status of the person we are communicating with, we must listen and participate fairly.

Similar to the occurrence when Jesus, Mary, and Joseph visited Jerusalem and upon returning to Nazareth they realized that Jesus is not with them. Instead of getting mad at each other, they kept all things in their heart by listening. They did not let their emotions get the best of their hearts. A heart that cares and loves. That led them to find Jesus at the temple.

“To be united as a family we need to have forgiveness.”

As a human, it is difficult to forgive someone. And forgiveness belongs to God that is why we have to pray to him that he may give us the ability to forgive ourselves so we can also forgive others.

Before Bishop Buco ended his homily, he reiterated that family is the heart, core, and cradle of synodality. It is our mission to relate and communicate the greatest story of God’s manifestation that he cares for us.

After the mass, the yearly Balik-Handog project by the Social Action Ministry was held, where more than 300 Media Noche food bags were distributed. Thanks to the kind parishioners of the Holy Family Parish, many families in need from different communities were able to benefit from the project.
