For the 3rd Simbang Gabi, the Holy Gospel shared the story of Saint Joseph and how he responded to the gospel of the Lord.
The mass was presided by Fr. Joselito Ortega who sent a message about how Saint Joseph should be the role model of everyone when it comes to decision making and trusting the Lord. He also shared the values that Saint Joseph taught the people when he discovered that Mary was pregnant and conceived the son of God.
Despite the chaos in his mind, St. Joseph remained calm. He peacefully faced the problem and asked for guidance from the Lord. Whenever we put our trust in Him, He will never let us down and leave us behind. Aside from being calm, Saint Joseph also let his actions speak louder than his words. This is how he became an example that when a person lets their faith take action, the grace of the Lord will remain in them.
Fr. Joselito also shared the importance of being humble to hear and to understand the plans and decisions of the Lord.
In this time of rumination, let us prepare our hearts to become manger where Christ will be able to see humility and kindness. To do that, remember to always respond to his love by accepting the people around us and loving them even though they may seem undeserving. During bad things, depend on the Lord and let him in our hearts because that’s the only way that he can take action and help us. Lastly, do not forget to become like St. Joseph. Always stay calm, obedient, and humble.
