New Year's Eve, a mass was held in celebration of the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God led by our parish priest Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Delatado.
He told in his homily that every beginning has an ending and we have to learn from our mistakes.
It is true that every beginning has an ending, and some has a beautiful ending and some aren't. Everything we do in our lives good or bad, all we initiate has boundaries, we have a start and extremity and that's the truth. Let's all make it clear that God has been here before, even if we die God will remain. This means that God is capable to judge us and we cannot change the choices we made.
This year 2019, its good to reflect; what happened this year? Because that is the only thing we can do in the last hours of the year. Reflect and think like Mary. Let's contemplate the events of our lives, look back, and turn to the past. There is a saying by Jose Rizal: He who does not know how to look back at where he came from will never get to his destination.
What are the things or events that we have to look back? In the first place, why do we look back to the past? Is it because we have something to change? No, we cannot longer change what we have done before, but all we can do now is contemplate on what happened. If you hurt someone's feelings, ask for forgiveness, the damage has been already done, be humble. Ask forgiveness for your sin.
We can face the year 2020 with vitality and fun. We need to learn from our mistakes, if we don't learn from it, it will just continue to happen and it can be much worse than before. Theres no one else to blame but ourselves. We have nothing to fear because Jesus is with us from the beginning till end, that's his promise. Let's continue to let God guide us and reflect the past, the dreams that became true and also our failures, grace that we receive and will receive.
Continue to thank God for the guidance, and leading us to a meaningful life as we enter into a new life that will bring hope, positive perspective, and love.
