For the 7th Simbang gabi, the Holy Gospel shared how Mother Mary praised the Lord for giving her the blessing of carrying the Son of God. Father Irvin Salano, SJ shared the 3 themes or 3 Ps of Mary’s song for the Lord.
Praise. Mary praises the Lord because He gave her the blessing of becoming the mother of Jesus, His son.
Prophecy. Fr. Irvin also shared the prophecy of Mary’s song; that the child of God will help the poor, revive the dead, allow the cripple to walk, and make the possessed people normal again.
Promise. The Lord will keep His promise that everybody will be saved and Israel will remain safe.
“Whoever prays is praised by the Lord.”
According to Fr. Irvin, humanity also experiences what Mary shared through her song. The Lord is praised whenever the people sing the church songs. Everyone has their prophecy in life; things that are manifested and in hopes to be true. Lastly, every single person has a promise to themselves which is also a promise to God.
Everything that happened to Mary is happening to us. We are all blessed by the Lord. This is why we need to give back by giving thanks to Him and helping and loving the people around us.
