Demons are real, Fr. Quintela

Fr. Jeff Quintela led the 2nd Family Faith Formation Seminar about Exorcism and Spiritual Warfare last Friday.

“Spiritual warfare is a lifetime battle against the evil one. Demons are real, but we have to remember that God is more powerful than them.”

According to Fr. Jeffrey Quintela, our enemies are the devils, evil spirits, demons, evil ones, and fallen angels. He also introduced the names of the 7 powerful fallen angels who are Asmodeus, Belial, Mammon, Beelzebul, Leviathan, Lucifer, and Satan.

After introducing the enemies of people, he informed the parishioners of the ordinary and extraordinary attacks of demons. The most common and successful activity is temptation, followed by gluttony, sloth, lust, envy, greed, pride, and anger. He did not forget about the extraordinary activities which are infestation, oppression, obsession, and possession.

Fr. Jeff Quintela addresses that occult people, things, places, and practices are ways of inviting demons in our lives, but devils can be also sent to us by the way of witchcrafts, cursing, evil eye (also known as third eye), and spells.

Despite of having many evil spirits against us, we must not forget of our comrades who are fighting with and for us. Let us always remember of our blessed Mother Mary, Saint Joseph and other saints, our guardian angels, and most importantly, Jesus Who are always there by our side.

“Ignoring the devil is not the solution. We must fight the devil, and the devil will be afraid of us.”Exorcised salt, water, oil, relics devotional images, and sacred objects are also some of the weapons that Fr. Jeffrey mentioned.

Before ending his talk, he said that “The main intention of exorcism is to lead the victims back to God but confession is more powerful than exorcism.”

After the talk, Fr. Ferdie blessed the salts, oil, water, and benedict medals of the parishioners.
