On December 30, 2021, Holy Family Parish Marikina City celebrated its 26th Anniversary. In his homily, Rev. Fr. Ferdinand C. Delatado shared the history of the parish and the essence of the people who made the church possible.
“This church was built thanks to the people’s hard work, and the parishioners’ love for it.”
Fr. Ferdinand began his homily by sharing the history of Holy Family Parish and how it started as a small church in Lapu-Lapu street, and now a big church on Recto street which was previously a store of cooking pots.
“People had the desire to build the church which is why they helped each other. Everyone contributed and shaped one another.”
Aside from the people, Fr. Ferdinand also highlighted the past and how it should be a part of everyone where giving thanks, gratitude, and love is found. Holy Family parish and its parishioners will continue building new dreams with the Lord’s guidance and generosity because the church is the place where people seek peace, love, and hope. A place that people can call home where the Lord will unite everyone and satisfy them with stories of His love.
Before closing his homily, Fr. Ferdinand said that as 2022 approaches, people shouldn’t forget that the Lord is accompanying them in their past, present, and future. Make God be the center of our new chapter in life and create stories where we can show that He will never leave us alone.
On the same day, the parish also awarded the families who shared their stories during the pandemic that gave inspiration to many people. Holy Family parish would also like to introduce and congratulate the new Hermano and Hermana; Roman and Rosell Leonen.
