Easter Vigil or Paschal vigil, a liturgical tradition where we celebrate the Ressurection of our Lord Jesus. Hundred of parishioners joined the live stream on our Parish Facebook page.
The ceremony began with the blessing of the fire and lighting of the paschal candle led by Fr. Ferdinand C. Delatado. In his homily, Fr. Ferdie told us that this Easter, all the darkness is gone. There is no more hindrance to keep and to continue our faith to God. This is why we should remove the rock that is serving as barriers to our hearts because a person who has a rock on its heart is not able to receive blessings. This Easter, let us pray that may God help us let go of the rock that we are holding. May He remove all the obstructions for us to be near him.
This Season, Jesus is really alive. This way we should ask ourselves; is our relationship with Christ alive? May our faith in God stay strong in this period of time. May this experience strengthen our belief to Him and make us realize the importance of our connection to him. Our suffering is just temporary. May we always remember that our God is alive. Let us never lose hope, and remove the rock that causes the negativity in our life.
Before the mass ended, Fr. Ferdie praised the church frontliners. From the Social Services who went to the communities to help the families in need; the lectors, altar servers and choir who help our Parish Priest in the liturgy and the Parish Social Communications or Parish Media who broadcasted the Online Masses & Rosary and posting digital contents to share the light of Christ in this time of crisis.
Head of Social Communications Brother Tom Valientes thanked Defend the Catholic Faith as our broadcast partners. The Online Masses and Rosary of our parish also air on their Facebook Page. DCF has been a partner of the parish since 2018.
