"What Mary said in the Holy Gospel was simple: ‘I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.’"
The 7th Simbang Gabi was presided over by Fr. Fermin "Jao" Leoveras, who reminded the parishioners to always be humble like Mary and remember that everyone is loved by God despite our imperfections. May we reciprocate this love by opening our hearts and minds to follow his plans and wishes, which are to forgive every day.
"Let us be responsible children of God who can rely on his gifts."
Fr. Jao acknowledges that it is difficult to serve the Lord in full honesty and to be His child, but we shall not forget what the angel Gabriel said to Mary, which is that there is nothing that the Lord can’t do.
If the Holy Spirit is within us, we will be able to praise the Lord, and if the Lord is in us, we will be able to be thankful for his grace.
As we continue sacrificing for the Lord through the Simbang Gabi, let us pray to be always humble like Mary, and that He may always open our hearts and mind so that he can able to move through us and spread the true spirit of Christmas.
