Last Wednesday, the Catholic Church celebrated the Feast of Saint Andrew the Apostle, and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass was presided over by Fr. Ferdinand Delatado
In his homily, he reflected on the Holy Gospel, which shared the story of Saint Andrew the Apostle and his brother Peter and how they left everything when Jesus told them to follow him.
"They didn’t hesitate to follow. Even if they thought that they were not worthy of following him."
Fr. Ferdinand encouraged everyone to respond and accept when called to serve the Lord, as He has great plans for everyone.
"The Lord doesn’t call those who are qualified, but He qualifies those that He calls."
He then shared how it is saddening how many people put the Lord aside—the One who gave them their talents, skills, and jobs. Therefore, he reminded us that whenever we are raising our pointer finger and showing "1," we are pointing upwards, which is to the Lord. May He be our number 1 priority and follow in the footsteps of Saint Andrew the Apostle and his brother, who trusted and followed Jesus without hesitation.
Before the final blessing, the new coordinators of the ministries of the parish were formally introduced to the parishioners as they announced their pledge of service in front of the community.
